Safeguarding

Safeguarding of children, staff and volunteers, students and parents is a priority.  If you see anything that causes you concern regarding child protection, the well being or safety of a child or adult you MUST inform the Senior Designated Person (Mrs Cloe Cole – Headteacher) immediately.  If Mrs Chloe Cole is unavailable you MUST inform Mrs Lisa Playford (Alternative DSLs). Further information is available in our Safeguarding Policy  If you would like a paper copy of the Safeguarding policy please contact the school office on (01362) 692727.

We also have a designated Safeguarding Governor (Mrs Patricia Waller) who monitors our safeguarding and child protection processes alongside the governing body.

We have safer recruitment procedures in place, as well as a range of policies and procedures to ensure that your child is safe while at school. Please refer to the ‘Policies’ tab to read safeguarding related policies.

All staff, students and regular volunteers have an Enhanced DBS check before starting at our school. Mrs L Playford checks that any contractors, outside agencies etc have a DBS.

All students and volunteers are required to read five policies before starting at our school (Safeguarding, Social Networking, Keeping Children Safe in Education; Part One and Annex A, Code of Conduct, Camera and Mobile Phone) and sign a declaration which is kept in the school office. Volunteers and students are also required to complete a cluster safeguarding declaration form, where we ask for verification from previous schools or places of employment that there are not concerns over a person’s suitability to volunteer in school.
