Year 1 Welcome meeting
Library visit
Year 1 had a lovely time visiting Dereham Library and exploring all of the different books.
Power of Reading
As part of our Power of Reading learning all Year 1 children have created their own pet potato just like the character Albert from our story. The children have been asking each other questions about their pet potatoes and teaching their potatoes how to behave in school. Take a look at our pets!
Calm Cats
Sapphire Class enjoyed their recent Calm Cats session, learning new yoga moves and different ways to keep calm and focused.

Banquet and Ball
Thank you to all the grown ups that came to our Banquet and Ball. The children had a wonderful time making jam tarts and performing their medieval dance.
Hot chocolate and cookies
Well done Sapphire class for reading at home and filling up the pasta jar. Sapphire class are now working towards an ice cream party!
Number Day
Sapphire class had a great time celebrating Number Day. We took part in Mrs Coles number challenge and ate yummy number biscuits!
POR cafe – The Snail and the Whale
Thank you to everyone who attended the Snail and the Whale Reading Cafe. It was great to see the children so excited about their learning and sharing their work with you all.
UFO LANDING IN THE REFLECTIVE AREA
This week [30.10.23] the children found a crashed UFO in our schools reflective area. They have been exploring the UFO and discussing where it might have come from, who might have been in it and what to do with it next. This ‘book hook’ will support the children’s learning in Literacy throughout this half term.
Sheldon the snail
The children in Sapphire class were all very excited to meet their class pet Sheldon. Each day the Eco Warrior will ensure Sheldon has enough water and food whilst also cleaning his cage.
